How do meal worms react to vibration?

Goal: For this experiment we had wondered how the meal worms would react to a vibrating surface, and if it would be similar reaction to a non-vibrating surface.
Materials: Phone (for vibrations), aluminum plate
Hypothesis: We had hypothesized that the meal worms would be bothered by the vibrating surface and would curl up into a ball and would not crawl around as well.
Procedure: We had placed the meal worms on a tin plate and had placed a cell phone that had a vibrating setting on the plate. We had set the phone to vibrate for one minute and recorded what we had observed.
Observations:
The meal worms/beetles did stop crawling but did not appear to be greatly bothered by the vibrations either. They remained still but light could have been a factor in their inactivity.
Results: The mealworms/beetles stopped moving whenever the phone vibrated.
Independent variables: Light exposure, noise from vibration of phone
Dependent Variables: Reaction of mealworms/beetles.
